how do i find out about crime in an area i might by a house in?

You can go to the city or county web site and get stats for crime...In the city I live in (pretty big city) there is information by zip code, then by neighborhood. It really helps determine a houses resale value also.

You should go to that particular area's law and enforcement agency's offices and enquire for records.Courts are another way to look at it,cops,DEA, other agencies active in the area should be able to help you.
