I want to write a book on vampires but I don't know where to begin or even how to compose a chapter of the book.

As a manic reader of fantasy, I would like to tell you not to repeat any of the stupid or overworked avenues, to add something different and to not have preconceived notions about your subject is what I would expect to buy your book. I loved Brian Lumley's vampire books for thier originality for example, and Anne Rice for the depth of detail and creativity. Terry Pratchett's Carpe Jugulum was terrific as it made fun of the silly notions I just mentioned. It gets so TIRING to sift through the same old story no matter how appealing the writing. Good luck!

Well, I guess a stalker is like a vampire, so since I have a stalker right now (!) I could write a VERY good fantasy novel!

Read. I realize this sounds contrary but reading will give you a feel for how others do it. Then get original and do your thing.

You start at the beginning: though there are some who start at the end and work backwards, I never liked this way myself but it has some advantages.
Chapter 1
She fell as the world erupted around her.

And then you just keep going.
Luck

Orson Scott Card has a nifty little book that he wrote called HOW TO WRITE FANTASY AND SCIENCE FICTION. He goes into detail on world building, character creation, rules for magic, and pretty much all that you would need to know to write your fantasy novel. Check it out (I found it at my local library.)

take a writing course. do some research. It doesn't happen overnight. And it's certainly much too much information to post here.
