According to the specifications for that phone, the phone is a dual band phone GSM 900 / GSM 1800. America works on GSM 850 / GSM 1900 so the phone will NOT work in America

GSM networks are available in USA. Of course if you have a tri-band phone your odds are better.

it will not work in the U.S.A as the phone is a dual-band
(GSM 900/GSM 1800) phone.

u need either a tri-band (GSM 900/GSM 1800/GSM 1900), or a
quad-band (GSM 850/GSM 900/GSM 1800/GSM 1900) phone in order to use it over there.

i don't know much about cell phones, but i think it will work even better in the united states. who is your service provider and where do you live now? i know some people who are really into the whole mobile electronis scene. you answer my question and i'll have enough information to answer yours. also what kind of service do you get now. and do you have wireless internet downloadable ring tones. ect...
