19th century for drugs - alcohol goes back to ancient times. I doubt that any of them could be narrowed down to a specific year

According to a buddhist story,alcohol was discovered many centuries ago in this way........there was a hole on top of a big tree...water collected in the hole..birds flew there to drink...drop fruits into the hole...fermentation....alcohol!Monkeys came to drink...drunk...fell from tree....hunters found monkeys....curious..climbed up tree..tasted the alcohol..love it!The rest is history!
