yes, cell phones generate electromagnetic waves...that is how they work..so naturally, with the phone that close to the side of your head, there is going to be some leakage into the cranium area. it does not enter the ear as you think..but would just pass through the skin wherever the antenna was.

the fact is, the location of the earpiece usually not very close to the internal antenna element (or external) for the electromagnetic waves to pass through you...so it's a useless spot for protection.

in reality, cell phones simply don't put out a whole lot of power...under 1 watt, and they're usualy directed away from your head a great deal.

products like Safe Guard were created in the "oh cell phone casue cancer" issue that was huge about 10 years ago. Back then cell phones put out more power, and the early ones, yes, they did put out enough to microwave your brain...but they've learned from it. products like that are just a rip off..plain and simple. same goes for that internal antenna booster sticker, that does absolutely nothing but stick to your phone.

so, do yourself a favor, don't buy products like that..not only do they look silly on your phone, but all you've accomplished is wasting money.
