When I see a penny heads down, I always like to flip it over and leave it there...that way when the next person comes along, it will be good luck for them.

I say no . I beleave that the idea behind the lucky penny came from a time period in America like the depression where if you found any coin on the ground you were lucky .. so in th idea that you just found money makes you lucky. Now the heads idea is just dum. A penny is a penny an 100 make a dollar. If you don't pick it up you just shorted yourself . if you don't like pennies give them to someone who will value them . Like a small child or a homeless person.. who knows you might even convence someone to eat the penny .. little kids eat change an will do it when ask I suggest donating it to a child...

That was a fable made up to stop people from stealing the pennies from the eyes of the dead. For sometime when the dead are transported the pennies that were laid on their eyes fall off onto the ground and then who ever found it would not give it back so thus comes the stories of back luck. If the pennies were found lying face down. So if you find a penny today pick it up and have a good laugh on the stories that created a superstition that have lasted even up to this day and age..............................................

This is pretty simple. If you find a penny on heads-you keep it for good luck, and if it is on tails, you give it away for luck. Passing it to someone else doesn't give them bad luck or good luck. It's only good luck for you.
