if shops can sell blue, white, green, brown trees and even silver Christms trees - then why cant you buy a black one --- especially if it goes with your decor.
a Christmas tree, in your home, should be whatever colour you want, and decorated as you wish.
there are no rules that i know of.
my nan (bless her soul) used to have 2 white trees - one decorated with normal decorations, the other decorated with sweets for kids -
so i say to you "do what you feel is best for you"
i am sure it will look great, and might even start a trend ...
:-)

I noticed that trees are starting to come in all sorts of new and different colors this year. They must have figured out how to mass produce cheaply and the varied colors are starting to catch on. If you want a black tree, then have one! And have a green one, too, for your husband. We put up several trees each year and it is like a forest in our home at Christmas! lol It's alot of fun. And often the trees will have different themes or colors schemes.
I imagine your husband can't "see" the black tree and if you could show him one that is already decorated, he would come around. And tell him how people will be just awe struck by your tree that is a bit different from the others and ask him if he doesn't want to be known for his originality and creativity? :)
Have a wonderful Christmas!

Not strange at all if that's what you want. I've never seen them in person but I have seen them online marketed as Halloween trees, not Christmas trees.
But since it's his house too, you should respect his choices as well. Or perhaps you could have a black tree for you and a traditional one to make him happy.

Are you going against tradition? Yes. Black is not a traditional Christmas Tree color. In fact some people would look at a black tree as offensive or insulting because in their cultures black is a color of mourning, green is a color that means life. Christmas is about celebrating the birth of a child---not death.
It may be fashionable or stylish right now, but many people would look at a black Christmas tree and they would see a political statement, a slam against Christmas or they would just wonder.
Ask your husband why he dislikes it.

I don't see anything wrong with it. Have you seen programs-like Good Morning America- where they show that hanging Christmas trees upside down is becoming very popular? Some people think that this is very nontraditional-but just because something isn't traditional, doesn't mean it's wrong. It's all a matter of taste. It doesn't mean anything bad at all. Go for it...

xmas trees come in all colors...from white to pink, to silver and green....to black? i've never seen a black one!!...i don't think it's strange tho....i'm sure you could decorate it beautifully.....and if your husband is a little unsure, then maybe you should make sure that some of your other decorations are more traditional, and everyone will be happy

If you like it why not get it no where does it say your Christmas tree has to be green, there are some really nice white Christmas trees too! Ask your husband to try it this year and if he doesn't like it next year get a green one, that way he has a chance to get use to it, and who knows he might even like it .....lol (men)

I think you should have the tree you want. You might consider another more traditional tree in another part of the house for those not into your color scheme.

Against tradition? Yes
Strange? Who's to say what's normal these days? You can do whatever you please in your house with your tree.
If you feel choosing a black tree could cause problems in your relationship, then maybe it's just not worth it. (The black tree I mean!)
Whatever you choose, have a Merry Christmas!
