when i highlight an 'answerers' profile pic on yahoo answers 9 times out of ten i see that they have only been a member for the past month or two. Do people get fed up of this after a couple of months and is that why there are very few who are long term members?

Check the Leader Board's profiles (see link below). they've been using this forum for a longer period of time. They also have a limited number of Questions they've asked.... those are truly some of the better contributors. I've been here less than a year (29% best answers).. and I'm getting discouraged with the bogus violations - if someone doesn't like your answer. In addition, it's time consuming weeding through the childish "chat" ... maybe I'm getting too old for this. LOL... in my misguided wisdom, I actually thought I could contribute to this forum. I also noticed the Best Answer is not always selected.. and in fact sometimes the Best Answer is wrong on so many levels it's laughable.

I just found out about this. My coworker told me I should join because I needed something answered and he didn't know. I wish I had been a member for a while but I guess that comes with time.

You're probably right. I thought this was an interesting idea at first, but after seeing all the immaturity and ignorance which so frequently gets displayed on here, I'm starting to think it is only sad...
