Ok here's the thing. I like to do things differently, so I am going to propose to my boyfriend. I was going to take him out to dinner and then go to the beach and propose there. Is that romantic or cheesy? Does anyone have any other ideas that are romantic?

I am a romantic person and want everything to be perfect...

In my question, maybe I should have mentioned that we have been together for a long time, have discussed marriage several times and we are expecting our first child.

First of all loose the idea that everything has to be perfect. If you go into a relationship with that as an ideal we will be reading about your problems and divorce in a couple of years.

Traditionally the man has done the proposing, unless you are sure he is ready for marriage, and that he won't mind you taking the lead, I would slow down a little.

Marriage is not something you rush into just because you want it. Consider the other persons feelings carefully and if you haven't discussed marriage, children, goals, and dreams, then you are not ready to pop the question.

When I proposed to my wife it was at a hockey game and there was about 20000 people in the stands. She loved that I was able to do it in such a big setting and not be discreet about it. After the game we were asked to come out to the middle of the floor and that is where I proposed to her.

I personall y don't agree with the female proposal. I;m all for woman, I am one, but some things are meant to go in natural order.
