Good morning, dearheart. Good for you. here's my take on gay marriage. I've been married to the same wonderful lady for the last 26 years. She drives OTR semi for a living and I'm a housewife. We both wear wedding rings and feel as married as the next heterosexual couple but I can get none of her health benefits. How my union is hurting society I can't fathom as our relationship has been monogamous for all of it's 26 years and that same union has lasted longer than many heterosexual marriages. There are couples on the LGBTQ site here that have been together for over 40 years (which is a great thing in its own right) How can their love be hurting anyone? Good luck and Blessings on you.

I think equal rights means equal rights. To everyone, and about everything.
Gay marriage is good for the economy. Married people are taxed differently. Also that would entitely people to be on their partners health insurance, which in some situations, although certainly not all, would cut health care costs.
Also, lots of gay couples are together for years and years. Longer than most marriages last. I think in the event of the death of one of the partners, the other deserves to receive the deceased person's death benefits, life insurance, and all that. To help pay for the funeral, to pay for debts mutually incured, and to maintain the present lifestyle.
Emotionally, yes I believe in gay marriage. If you love someone, and that same person loves you, then we should just be happy for each other. This is real love. It lasts. Gay marriage has no effect whatsoever on straight marriage. None. Does it cheapen it somehow? Well, no, but for sure not more than the insane divorce rates.

I am totally for gay marriages. I don't think there is anything wrong with two people wanting to commit to each other. I can't believe there have been so many states opposed to gay marriage when the constitution clearly states there is to be a separation of church and state.

I think that if two people commit their lives to each other, they should be able to enjoy certain benefits, such as filing taxes together, being able to share things like car insurance, being able to see each other in the hospital, joint custody of children, etc. Gay marriage is in no way a threat to society, or to heterosexual marriage. It doesn't de-value marriage for everyone else.
If anything, it reinforces the solemnity of marriage vows; same-sex couples who are fighting so hard for marriage equality are going to make marriage mean MORE, while the increasing divorce rate among heterosexual couples makes it mean LESS. (Want to talk about the sanctity of marriage? Just ask Brittany Spears about her Vegas wedding. It doesn't get more sacred than that.)

if 2 consenting, unrelated adults love each other and are committed to each other, they should be allowed to get married. it shouldn't matter what their gender, race, religion or culture is.
opponents say it will harm the "sanctity" of marriage. considering the divorce rate, abuse, infidelity, children out of wedlock and some people's blase' attitude of marriage (i.e. Britney Spears' drunken 55 hour Vegas marriage, and now, big surprise! she and K-Fed are getting divorce!), I'd say divorce is what harms the sanctity of marriage. how about banning that? how could WE possibly do any worse than the hypocrites who oppose us?

All i can say is that we are living in a world gone mad.
I am not opposed to it. I think that people should be free to express themselves. If you are opposed to it then you are rubbing them of a basic right. So the long and short of it is that i really pay no mind to it as long as they do not try to introduce their culture to me. I will not try to introduce mine to them and we can all live together like a happy family.

I think that people should have the right to marry who they want even if it is the same sex. I just don't think they should publicly display it. I don't think any one should publicly show it. Straight or gay. That's just wrong.
