I am Brazilian and I´ve never been to Canada. But both my sons visited it and loved it.
For me, since I was a child, Canada is a wonderful and vast country! Ranging from the Pacific to the Atlantic and from the borders of Alaska to USA it has all different kinds of landscape but mainly big forests, high mountains with white peaks, deep valleys, wild rivers, small creeks and cold lakes . With big and strong wild animals and with very small and fragile like brown and black bears, sea lions, and sweet looking seals, fast squirrels, all kinds of fish, all kinds of birds eating berries, eagles soaring through the blue skies, falcons descending like arrows to catch the shy hares and reinders plowding through deep snow. You look up to the trees: they are big, big almost reaching the sky. In autumn mapple leaves colloring the ground. You look down at the bush of wild berries and flowers in the spring and see colors, smell parfums and hear bees buzzing. All this formidable nature very well preserved, by people that love, respect and protect the environment.
Not many big cities: but all of them clean, organized traffic, with a preocupation with education - museums, libraries, schools, theaters, etc. More than this, with a concern for children and teen agers: playgrounds, safety, recreation and education. Strong and big men, descendants of the first colonizers, beatiful and rosycheeked women, happy and vigorous children and young people. Many imigrants from all over the world finding good jobs, good environment, human respect.
Very characterized seasons: cold, cold winter, collored spring, delightful summer, cozy autumn. I forgot the food.
Is it not updated and very parcial? I hope not. Some day I´ll visit your country. But, on spring or summer time.

I USED to have mixed feelings for Canada way down here in Texas............. But then I met a girl in Ontario and we clicked! I was in part of an older area near south lake erie and windsor. I enjoyed my visit/home..... It was quite hard to find work while I was there though. That would be the only negative I found about Canada would be americans getting a job there, besides working under the table building greenhouses.....:)

The Americans I know think that Canadians are awesome.
Here are some stereotypes about Canadians (and I'm not saying these are true!):
They're very polite (actually I do think this one is true)
they're more politically liberal than Americans
they love hockey
People from Vancouver are drug addicts (sorry, but that seems to be what a lot of people think)
They say "eh?" a lot (Judging from my two Canadian coworkers, this stereotype may have some merit)
Hooray for Canada!

Only 1 good thing out of Canada is hockey. I know a few cool people from Canada and then there are the others who think Canada is greatest thing since sliced bread. The state of Vermont could take over Canada for crying outloud. But you seem alright so SALUTE!

What about our Arctic weather? I live 60 miles north of the American border. Canada and Canadians are the best in the world!

Canada is considered lucky enough to exist down flush from the sewer that the right-wing and religious Nazis are trying to create south of the Canadian border.

It's probably an over-generalization, but I think Americans consider Canadians to be peaceful people & appreciative/protective of their natural enviornment & having a quiet dignity and pride in their country.

No Wait! that was a country whose army marched right up into Washington. the only Army in the world walked on American soil and won.
( except for the confederacy that made a laughing stock of the US army).
