a different side of themselves on it ? Do u? If I were to meet you on the street and strike up a conversation with you would I have the same impression of you as I have on here reading your answers and questions ? Is this the side u keep hidden because I've read alot of nice, encouraging, deep, thought provoking, etc answers and questions (although there are alot of junky ones too =x ) that i rarely ever hear about or see outside of this cyber world.
so i was wondering whats up with it ? Are you people just protraying yourself as someone you're not or do you all live in timbutu ?

not only questions but answers...its the sensitivity of the answers and dept of it that intrigues me...where do you people come from ? Or is it that people in general rarely shows their deeper side ?

This is who I am. This is what I think and feel. I wear my heart on my sleeve. I'm open & honest. I don't portray myself any differently here than I do in life. The difference is that if you (a total stranger) came up to me on the street, I may not be as apt to delve into my innermost thoughts & feelings right away! I'd probably have to get to know you over a cup of coffee at the very least before I'd feel comfortable enough to really talk philosophy, psychology or anything else. The internet & this forum gives us the anonymity & the freedom to speak our minds without fear of exposure or repercussions. It's easier to type words on a screen than to engage in a conversation face-to-face. At least for a shy girl like me! I'm nervous around people I don't know. But I feel safe here!
By the way, I live in Canada. Not Timbuktu.
:)
Cheers!

I have always been up front and honest, sometimes i think i am to up front and honest but if someone was to ask me a serious question and didn't like what i had to say then it was their own fault in asking that question, i always say to my friends do you want me to lie or tell you the truth cause i do realise that sometimes the truth is hard to hear even if we make out we want to know, i think there are a lot of people out there who do feel more comfortable on the computer were people can't see you only because some are worried about how others will judge them, it is a shame because if we all tried to be our selves a little more i think we would all really get along! I mean just because you ask someone else it doesn't mean what they say is the truth that's it drop it no more it is just someone opinion about how they see things why care what someone says if you don't know them!

One should expect a disparity between a person at a key-board and the same person on the street, for a number of reasons. There is an element of safety when writing anonymously because there is no sense of accountability, so people can pretend to be someone they are not. I don't have a problem with that...it can be fun, except for those cowards who hide their identity in order to say things that would get them hurt in public. But it also allows people to be who they really are, free from their reputations from faults and gaffs they have committed in the past. Sort of like being a new person, starting over. But I think the most prevalent reason for the disparity is because we have time to reason things out and collect our thoughts before blurting them out in public. Speaking for myself, I am a different person here then on the street because I don't do well impromptu...and enjoy having the opportunity to edit my responses so they more accurately reflects my thoughts.

I give me most of the time. My personality changes as does most peoples. However, my values, morals, beliefs remain the same. I believe that people need to respect each other. I believe its better to keep your mouth closed unless ask unless you see someone being hurt. then stand up and be an adult.
As I was told from a friend, don't ask a question that your afraid to hear the answer to.
If more people stood up the way they do here then I believe this world would be a better place..... trust me I have went to jail for my beliefs and children has anyone else?

actually the cyber me is a very different person, its the true me. the me you would meet on the street is not very confident and therefore never expresses her ideas or opinions. also all the people i live or work with never have time for conversations such as these, which is why i love this site, its a way to interact and use my mind without worrying what people might think, or how they will judge me.

I know what u're talking about, when i read some answers.i feel amazed by the depth of it.
personally,i like questions that make me think, people who know me know that i like that,so i think i look for to qusetions that interest me to answer, like yours.no prtending!
although i agree of the feeling, u got that many people show their hidden deep side in answers,it's a good thing to show it,but maybe it would be better to share it with others in non cyber world!right??

Like in any situation, some people do, and some people don't. I do not like pretending. So, I am trying to be the same regardless if it is a computer encounter or a personal meeting.

I think that most of the questions are inner thoughts that some people are afraid of asking the people they have in their lives. It could also be the need for outside opinions.Me,what you read is what you get.Thats me.Merely expressing my inner most thoughts and wanting other peoples opinions. Most of the time though it just me messing around cause im bored.

What you read is what you get. I am exactly the same in real life as I am on YA . It`s up to you whether that`s good or bad!

If we were to meet on the street, you would not have the same impression of me as you would on here because you'd be blinded by my all-encompassing sexiness.
