Because our media is biased to favor government policies and the current administration so this comment was not reported in the US at the time it happened.
I only heard it myself about two years ago and have to say I am not surprised. The nation of Israel was only created so that we would something in the middle east to stir up animosity amongst the arabs.

These dudes WERE politicians---and if there are any peoples in the world that know of the rhetoric of the politician-- it's the Americans.....
There is no one that "controls" the U S A besides the combined branches of the government-- and HOPEFULLY still--- the citizens....

When it comes to Israel-- in some cases they DO have certain undo influences within America that a lot of other countrys do not enjoy--but these are not levered covertly or under the table-- it is an open and commonly known thing-- and happens to exist because of the basics involved around the common ground of the Judeo-Christian connections-- and it is something that is never going away-- ever !!!

Israel has a lot of influence in the USA, mainly because many Americans favor Israel, as a democracy, as Friend of the USA in the middle east.
But the fact is, the Israeli government is very sensitive to what the USA government likes or dislikes, and it takes serious steps not to antagonize the American government and people.
it's been clarified for several years now that Israel does not consider the US financial support for the Israeli security as critical, however, the support continues as a moral booster for the Israeli people and as an additional tool for the US government to influence the Israelis.

America has for a long time supported Israel, but on the other hand Israel is more then capable to handle themselves. People need to realize that Israel is not going anywhere. Isreal and the US has always had very good relations. I've always wanted to explore why our realtions are so good.

I do know Isreal is a democracy is a sea of dictatorships. That is a good reason to support them.
