Your too young to be a scout. No senior club will listen to a 15 year old when they have ex players advising them of talent.

Im sure you can spot good players when you see them, however clubs look for specific types of players at certain times.

ie they might need cover for right back and centre mid so they need a utility player with good experience at a certain level.

Most scouts become scoutsby invitation. Best thing to do is just select 20 or so clubs and write to them with players names who you think would do a job.

When you get replies just take it from there.

They will specifically link with local tournaments and coaches. They make the most of their resources by phoning up major clubs and asking if there is anyone special on the books?

These positions are normally filled in house and are either a trusted friend of the manager, coach or an ex-player of the team.
People who have a developed understanding of the specific needs of the club or manager.

Larger clubs like Manchester United again the majority of scouts are friends of Alex Ferguson or with his coaches. They nurture contacts with local teams and develop partnership agreements. Most of the best teams in north west england develop and pass on players or information to Manchester United in return for the clubs support.

It is a closed market and isn't going to be advertised in the Job Centre. The best way to do it is to become a respected person in football either through coaching at your local team or as a player.

The Best thing to do is to go down to your local football club and see what you need to be able to do and have to become a scout. You will most likley have to be confident and funny and very fit. And dont forget when you go and ask use these qualities.
