the sun is the bigger. you could fit about 1,000 earths in the sun, which is actually just one of millions of huge stars that has a gravitational pull on our planet. The moon, however, orbits not the sun, but earth, which has its own gravitational pull. some scientist think that the moon is actually part of the earth, that erupted into space millions of years ago. i personally think this is impossible, seeing as how the moon is made of a kind of dirt we don't have here on earth, and it's perfectly round.
the farthest away is also the sun, and that may be why you can't tell which is biggest. and the brightest is...
bingo, the sun. the moon actually doesn't even have it's own source of light, but reflects light from the sun.

The sun is bigger. The sun is bigger than all planets combined. The sun is also very bright. The sun is farther away from Earth.

The Sun is about 400 times bigger (larger in diameter) than the Moon, but since it is also 400 times farther away, it appears as the same size in our sky.

Oblivious to the obvious, it is one of the greatest coincidences - a natural wonder - that the ratios of size to distance are so similar for the sun and moon, such that a total solar eclipse is so nearly perfect that when the limb or edge of the sun shines light through lunar valleys, enough of the sun is covered to allow it to be visibly noticeable (Bailey's beads).

The sun has to be bigger, because when there is an eclipse of the sun the moon doesn't fully cover the sun.

the sun is bigger (the sun makes up 99% of the solar system) and the sunis brighter (the moon reflects the suns light)

Some Sun facts:
Circumference 4.373×106 km
(342 Earth diameters)

Luminosity (Lsol) 3.827×1026 W
~3.75×1028 lm
(~98 lm/W efficacy)
(Damn that's bright)

Some Moon facts:
Equatorial diameter 3,476.2 km[14]
(0.273 Earths)

Luminosity (Lluna) Not so bright
