terrorism as i see it at the moment is a propaganda tool... the people in the west are terrorised because the govts in the west wish them to be for political agenda. of course it is effective propaganda when the agenda involves a 3rd person who will not benefit and will fight back.... giving 'ahhh! see! terrorists! they are against us'
the thing with terrorism is that your terrorist is another person's freedon fighter.... the question is, who shot the first bullet. in this case the west is the aggressor (check history pre-9/11 you will find that it is).
one has to look at the long term of this agenda and realise that internal laws will start to say that anyone who disagrees with the govt. is a terrorist. and that is a worrying situation that is not very far away and all part of the political agenda by virtue of them being passed in the first place. if it wasn't the agenda... it would be left to the sercret services to perform their duty and left at that.

No terrorism doesn't work. It is true that IRA, Syria and Iran has been brought to the negotiations tables. But don't forget that neither of them has achieved their goals. They have started to negotiate because they realised that the price would be to high if they continued with terrorism.
The reason that they have some one to negotiate is is the fact that their agonists have realised that military power alone doesn't work, you need to adress the root problem that caused the terrorism.

To your headline question, unfortunately yes. They are cowards who hide in, and look like, the civilian population. The western news media, particularly TV, assist them by continually reporting the inevitable civilian casualties as though it were a deliberate policy of western armed forces to target them. This is wilful mis-reporting by devious and unpatriotic left wing media. How can western governments fight a war against such treacherous and cowardly terrorists when the morale of our soldiers is being constantly undermined by our own media. If these news reporters are so clever, and believe every problem can be resolved by negotiation, then let us send them in to talk with terrorists, so that they can experience first hand how difficult it is. There is a great danger, of course, that they would join with the terrorists in pursuing their agenda. Notwithstanding, if they are not prepared to do that, then they should keep their noses out. Because of their appalling behaviour, I now believe that the media need some checks and balances imposing on them. They are cocky, not impartial, and are following their own unpatriotic agenda.

Depends on perspective. Terrorism or Freedom Fighting?
If our country was illegally occupied, would just lie down and accept it? or fight back? There no "goodies" or "baddies", just people with opposing opinions. What one person thinks is evil and immoral could be seen as necessary action to someone else.
I think the world is kinda stupid like that.

Terrorism doesn't work, all it does is cause carnage, death, heartache and war. These countries and organisations are ruled by evil and that is why there will never be peace in this world.

Terrorism is the way of the weak, it 'never' works. Just as 'bad' never works.

It works very well for the perpetrators, the secret services. They have the entire world believing that the terrorists are Arabs which was thier objective.

NO! Violence begets violence. Look at it this way-if someone was hurting and terrorizing you, would you give in to them and their demands? No-you'd fight back harder!
