The north Korean ship is either a decoy or its contents transferred most probably to a Pakistani ship before it was caught by Indian coast guard.

they are 3 highest probabilty here:

1. The ship was sent to Iran because Iran Bought it or it's a gift from N.Korean .

2.The ship was sent to pick up something from Iran.

3. An attempt to slander both country to create reason for something - Political conspiracy

Note: to confirm 3rd probability U must investigate by yourself whether the ship is really from korean, and whether the ship is really headed to Iran. Afterall it just a news report where, it could be fake news or the news got fake data from the official.

No idea, maybe the story did not garner much hype and was duly dropped. Maybe it was a National security issue and was censored. Maybe they did find something in it after all the statements were issued?
