I mean, when you ask a serious question and get a ridiculous answer or even abusive, shouldn't you be able to block them?

Of course you should be able to. Just like you can block e mail addresses.

I mean, no one is going to always answer questions like you want them to so you have to really be open minded and accept every ones varied views. However, for people just after the 2 points and rude or abusive answers then I agree you should have the option of banning certain people from answering your questions.

The only thing is there are millions of people on here, you cant ban everyone you don't like!

Just have the sence to ignore what you dont like,
Report what offends you,
Only take into account what you want!

Absolutely!! Censorship is very important if these rights and freedoms that the founding Fathers of America and Western society valued so dearly are ever to be successfully repealed. I myself wouldn't want that but I quite understand how uncomfortable these freedoms are for so many People. It explains such institutions as Communist Russia and China lasting so long and look how polite those People are forced to be. Good luck in this if that's what You really want, although You may want to read a book call "1984" by George Orwell before You make Your final decision on this.

yes, we should be able to block some people here not only here in all web sites, and mails. in my home computer is always on and this is the common id for all my family. including my 10year old daughter. we all read our mails together , or we all can check this mail. this site is so far safe due to this spam protection and all. some times i had very bad experience that people are sending very dirty picture to mail. it is a shame, so if we don't hv the option to block them what we will do. we need to wait until all the kids to sleep to check our mail. so i feel it is very important that a site should have some sort of authority or control over their users.

No, not really since it would infringe upon that person's freedom of speech. Granted there are some rude, obnoxious people on this site. However, I think blocking them would be next to impossible since once blocked they would just make up another id. Also, they're the ones making idiots of themselves. Of course we could all ignore them because I'm sure most of them ask rude things just for attention.

I think people who have repeatedly been abusive for no apparent reason should be blocked. I've seen people posting serious questions needing help, and some saddo replies with abuse and vulgarity. Why?!?!?

It's an interesting idea. But you should think about the pro's and contra's... well I thought about it :) I think, It wouldn't be bad... It would personalize YahooAnswers for your personal benefit, which can't be wrong.
