Absolutely! My opinion only but yes I try to whenever possible!
"Do on to others as you'd have done onto you" its common courtesy, when its reciprocated the world is a much different place and you'd never have the slighest clue its benefits.
Imagine how such a polite gesture may save a life, give hope.

I smile the first few times I see them, once I see it's a regular thing I always say Hello-with a smile. ;~)
