It's been going on for donkey's years. Surely some of these so called children would have grown up by now.

There is aways children in need! There will always be children in need. Its not for a particular set of kids, that when they grow, thats it.
Children that need help emarge every second of the day!

And If you go to Africa, Not even running children in need 5 times a year would erradicate the problem of needy children.

There is loads and still loads are born each day.

If you cant offer anything, You atleast can pray for them.

Because it's a charitable organisation that raises money to help children in need and as there will always be children "in need" it will continue doing a very good job not only by raising funds but highlighting the problems that some children have.

Its a bit like saying why is comic relief still running, why is the nspcc still running, why is childline still running, and all other charities... its because there will always be people out there who need help and generosity from others. Just because people grow up, doesn't mean they stop needing help. Perhaps you should watch it on Friday and you will see plenty of reasons why it is still running, and how it has raised millions upon millions for very worthy causes.

It isn't for the same children as before.. it's for new children in need. children in need is a charity... They work all year round but only have the 1 children in need day a year in the uk to earn more money.

Are you suggesting they should waste the donations on producing a new advertising campaign instead of using the money on feeding and clothing starving children or providing shelter, health services, education, etc?

They still run it because it is for the many children's charities for children of today. Childline needs money to help those children in trouble or danger. NSPCC needs money, to help with the cruelty to children aspect. Just to name two of the many charities set up to help children, or don't you care about children and their needs?
whilst mankind is still reproducing we will always have children. As a token of my appreciation for Children in need I will MATCH the number of points gained by this answer in pounds in favour of Children in Need. Think of it at least £12 could go to this charity if you chose it as best answer (more if I get points for thumbs up!)

But if you think about it, there will always be new children to take their place. Until the neglect and poverty of this world stops, we will always have "Children In Need". Not everyone is born with a silver spoon in their mouth.

becuase there are children that are still being abused in this world. children like me when i was younger i needed help as i had a bad upbringing. and i was helped and i am now at college studying. i am still mentally scared by everything that happened to me when i was younger but i recieved the help that was needed.
dont forget children in need is also for children that have a disability such as being blind etc.... they need help with equipment and things to ensure their learning in school and life. without children in need, children would be getting abused everyday and nobody would be doing anything about it.
but now there is help out there and people really care!!!
take it for me. on friday i am walking around in my pj's all day at college and then going to waork in them too. its not uniform but i care for those children out there who need help!!!
