i hear stories of people having near death experiances, adn they tell stories of light, contentment happyness adn seing all the tins you love in life. science tells me that this is due to your brain fiering of signals to all parts of your brain in panic. therfore when we die we die. should i feel sad that when im dead im dead knowing that science says in not going anywhere its all in my mind, or does it matter what science says because you know your going to think those thought before you die and you can believe our going to a better place?

I don't take too much stock in what most scientist say, why? We are talking about a bunch of people that can't even find a cure for the common cold. I hate to say this, but they are not as smart as they would lead you to believe. The last thing they found a cure for was Polio way back when? A huge amount of Science studies have no merit, and they mislead the people, because they can get millions of dollars from the government to do their studies. I don't know of the times I have seen some study come out saying something is bad for you, and then later (in small print) they say its not as bad as first thought. We give millions of dollars to them to study the sexual behavior of some mouse in the outback of Australia. It is about the money the government throws at studies, they are coned into backing? Now, whith this being said, they don't know what goes on after one dies, or can they tell me that this is some kind of dream. I know because I was in a position to learn the difference. I almost died, saw myself laying there and doctors working on me. Before I left to go towards the light, I saw a dead fly on the top of the light in the room. Weeks later, when I got better, and well enough to climb up there to see if the fly was there, the fly was there. Now how does one call this a dream? I went to the light and saw dead realtives who told me it wasn't my time, and my work wasn't done, so I would have to go back. This is when I woke up, but I couldn't get this fly out of my mind. It was driving me nuts, so I waited till I was able to climb up to see if the fly was in fact on the light, and yes it was!!!! Not just any fly, a green fly. I saw this green fly when I was out of my body, and on my way towards the light. Was this a dream? H*ll no!!! I didn't say a word to anyone about this, not even my wife for years, because I knew in the back of my mind, that no one would believe me anyway, and they would believe some scientist and his dream theory, because they did some study with the millions the government gave them. They got to justify getting all that money somehow, right?
We are sad because; we are emotionally attached to these people and know (think or led to believe) we will never see them again. This is not true! We do in fact go on to a better place. Being sad is all part of thinking thats it, and there is no more after we die. I hope this helps. Good Luck!!!

I don't think dying is the worst that could happen to someone- we all will sooner or later. It is percieved as "sad" because the remaining loved ones will miss that person and moreover,it is a generally held notion that no longer will the deceased get to "romp around and enjoy" this world (tongue in cheek). I believe death is a passage that takes us to another (better) plane.

I agree with Jason. I also believe we worry about our children and our mates and how it will effect them. I TRULY believe when we die we see the whole picture and see that every thing will work out for them. I was a hospice volunteer and saw allot of people die and I was with my mom when she died . The people I was with seemed to have a spiritual calm come over them 2 or 3 days before they died. Being near that spiritual calm taught me that when you die you come to realize that death is a glorious time for you. That is the best I can explain hope it helps.

It is sad for the ones left behind. If the person who has died believed in a higher power, then there's certainly no worries for them! There's a verse in a song that warrants contemplation: "Will you buy for me a gravestone to lay behind my head? Gravestones cheer the living, dear, there of no use to the dead!" I don't fear dying. I don't dread it. I don't want it to come before my time, but I feel confident that it will be a glorious day!

I think that the reason when people die, when they are non belivers die, is that god gives people a sence of sadness for that person because they are then lost for eternity in hell. But if you are a believer there is no reason to be sad because heavens glory is waiting for you! But people will miss you, its the same why people cry when someone close to them leaves to live far away ect...

In my own opinion,i think people're sad 2 die bcos of various reasons like;u don't kno wot d land of d dead is like cos no one has gone there&come back with d stories of wot's happening there. And u think of missing ur loved ones&everyother thing u luv here on earth cos u don't kno whether u'd see them there in d dead men's land.Infact d sadness attached 2 death is embedded in all d uncertainties connected with death.

It's fear of the unknown. That's what it boils down to. Trying to imagine being dead is impossible and because we don't know what will happen to us, we fear it. Even if you don't fear dying in itself; sit and just try to imagine for a moment not existing. You don't exist. You're not alive. Gone. Dead. Buried. It's frightening even for the most rational amongst us.
