i hear stories of people having near death experiances, adn they tell stories of light, contentment happyness adn seing all the tins you love in life.

science tells me that this is due to your brain fiering of signals to all parts of your brain in panic.

therfore when we die we die.

should i feel sad that when im dead im dead knowing that science says in not going anywhere its all in my mind, or does it matter what science says because you know your going to think those thought before you die and you can believe our going to a better place?

It's sad for those left behind. Unless I meet a dead person who can tell me he is really miserable and wishes he were alive, I wouldn't quite believe that death is all that bad for the one dying. It really sucks for those who's left behind though.

Whatever comforts you. The answer to this eternal question - what comes After - will only be answered for certain when each person takes that journey themselves, and no amount of scripture nor science will contend with the actual experience, or lack thereof.

On one hand, science is hard to argue with. On the other, 98% of people globally believe in something in the here-after - a pretty tough number to argue with!

I say, be happy that you will finally learn the truth, when the time comes. As will we all.

Death is simply the state I was in before I was born- nothingness. In itself, it shouldn't be a sad thing, or a scary thing.

Yet death is still sad because it spells the end of all the wonderful experiences of life: the end of all feelings, all senses, all your relationships with loved ones. When we die, we only leave behind memories; we are not able to make new memories with loved ones. I enjoy my life so much that death must definitely be viewed as a form of loss, especially premature death.

But death after a satisfying and purposeful life lived to the fullest wih no regrets shouldn't be a sad thing at all.

For starters science would do itself a favor to first define its subjects, then be a little humble where the rest of us are concerned... I have seen some of these documentaries where every Tom and Dick and John and Jerry with a PHD (this is where it has gotten nowadays), are selectively using data trying to make a case out of their little personnal questions or interpretations, and that stuff is passing for the next breakthru in science etc.

As for the sadness thing, I think it is due because we do not really know what is happening, not in our lives not in this universe..

Well, science doesn't exactly know what happens to us after we other than the physical side. Main reason because there is no way of measuring or observing whatever happens at death if anything at all. It's the same way with a number of paranormal subjects and other oddities.

I am sad because there is a little bit less laughter in the world today. And God knows, we need all the laughter we can get. He always told the truth, and even when he was angry at something, he told the truth in a way that made us laugh. Kind of pointed out how silly we are at times. There aren't many modern day comics who can do that the way he could anymore.

You can not live without dieing and you have important work do during life, that is to fulfill in your own way the flowering of your spirit so that you may return to God as a spiritual being that is a wiser, kinder, more loving and in all other ways a closer representation of God who made us in his/her image. I would point out that only a kind and loving God could create within us the near death experiences that you describe. God wishes to prepare us for the reunion with our creator. Totally unbelievably great in my estimation.

Loss is why it is sad, and fear is what happens while dying how does the process work. What happens after we die, is there an after world, where does our spirit go, what happens to it? Then how are we dying? Is it an extended illness, is it quick, is it painful or peaceful. This is only part of why it may seem sad to die, but every time someone dies another is born.

It doesn't matter what we think as far as what to expect at the end of life as we know it. For in death there is nothing-life is for living and should be done well and fully.
If U believe in God and are living well and fully then Ur spirit will go to heaven where there will be no more questions to ask for U will know all.

The sadness of death is sprinkled on those who believe that someone actually "truly" died and because of this is dead.
