We consider ourselves highly advanced but what if we are not it may be the case that in 1000 years people will look back at us as we currently look back at say cave men, with this in mind is it not possibe that our origins are actually very easy to understand(be it evolution or something else) but we are actually knowwhere near ready to discover them?

We have made great inroads. The evidence is real and the logic is sound. Are new techniques going to surpass the current ones? Yes. Should we stop? A qualified no. Some archaeological digs leave areas untouched because they are waiting for better technologies before tackling them.

Should we stop building the Next Generation Space Telescope? No. Should we stop learning genetics? No. Now the obvious reason is because of the immediate benefits, but in truth, if we need the next level of insight. The advances you expect for the next thousand years will come as a result of this inquiry. If we stop now, in a thousand years, we may be caveman.

What a good question!!

Certainly!
We cannot possibly answer such questions.
We cannot feed the starving ye,t although we could easily.

We cannot live together on this planet without the need for tools to kill each other with.

We are irresponsible and self centred.

The purity of science is being distorted.

And the word religion has lost all meaning.

The human mind is corrupt.

The human brain cannot evolve whilst it is being held in a limited field by a mind that is forever in conflict with something.

The cave man used clubs to kill, to live, we use missiles and bullets, yeah we have advanced a little.

We tend to play with life and not take it to seriously.

Philosophy has not changed man, radically, religion has not changed man.

Laws are broken.

Should we not first seek out and understand why we are this way.
Can we change?
What is intelligence, not intellect or IQ nonsense, not the capacity to store knowledge and repeat what another has said or thought.

We have a Long way to go before we can even take those questions you put seriously.

I'm not sure I know what you are asking, since we already understand huge amounts about the origins of our planet and the lifeforms which inhabit it. So, no, I definitely do not agree.

We have enormously successful theories to explain the existence of our planet, its development, its composition and age as well as theories which very accurately predict the type of universe in which our planet sits.

However, the most successful theory of all time is Darwin's evolution.

It has been tested to the limits and continues to be the most accurate tool for predicting the existence of and development of the species which inhabit or have inhabited our planet.

Of course we may still have a long way to go, but let's not understate the level of understanding we have already achieved by virtue of good scientific method.

I agree I don't think we are evolved enough yet. We want to discover the mysteries of the stars and distant planets, but at the same time we can't even work out how to live in peace with each other, most of us hate our jobs, there's crime, drugs, in some countries people pay to watch men being maimed by bulls - things getting better all the time though, but quite slowly.

There is no reason that our brains can comprehend everything, but we have made enormous strides and can understand so much.
There is no reason to dwell on what we can't do because our knowledge is growing so rapidly.
Most people that dwell on the negative have an agenda beyond philosophy or science or even religion and are usually more interested in cults, scams, etc...

Yes - the origin question is one of the most difficult known to us, and lots of people have great fun trying to make sense of it all - which is evidence enough of how profoundly stupid and primitive we still are despite the so-called great strides made elsewhere (many of which are likely to wipe us out before we get close to the Answer).
