Rudy Giuliani filed papers last Friday in New York to create the Rudy Giuliani Presidential Exploratory Committee Inc.
He is probably testing the waters for a possible run for the White House.
Yes, I admire the man - not only for the way he handled the events of 9/11 but the way he operated the NYC Mayors office.
Should he run?
If so, would you vote for him...and why?

So many good answers...thanks to all who responded.
BTW, DaHBIC, I don't know where you got your info that he is racist...but you might want to do your own homework instead of relying on false info.

I'm a Democrat but I would vote for him if the democrats don't put a good candidate. He isn't a conservative, but a moderate. He is pro-choice, pro-gay rights, and he is tough on crime. I like that in a person but I don't think he will win the nomination. The conservatives in the Republican party won't vote for him and most of them vote in the primaries. He will lose and I think McCain would get the nomination. He's from NY, has any northerner been elected president in recent times? I think his chances are slim of being nominated.

YES!!!!!! He had the toughest job in the country. Mayor of NYC. Not only did he do well at it . He cleaned up NYC. We used to be #1 in crime every year and after him we are not even on the charts. If anything he proved himself worthy on 9/11. @ ground zero directing traffic. Most politicians would have directed traffic from a base far away he got down and his hands dirty. He is what this country needs. He is not the most like-able guy but he is the best fit. He would also appeal to both parties. He is a republican but believes in gay rights and pro choice(not stuff I agree with). So he could be the missing link between the 2 parties to get their head up their bahookis and take this country back to greatness again!!! Giuliani for President: Hell yes

I was born and raised in New York City and I know first hand he did a good job. And that he doesn't have national experience, as some have written, doesn't mean that much. It's what you bring to the job (as in core values) that matters more. What job on earth could really prepare ANYONE for the Presidency??. I wouldn't want the job. But Giuliani would get my vote.

Let's see what he has to offer. Generally I like Giuliani even if he is a Republican. Bush is a figment of the Right Wing Mullahs - hopefully a moderate can emerge from the slime that the GOP has become. A McCain/Giuliani ticket might be attractive to a lot of people.

No, I would not vote for him. He made a good mayor, but I don't think he's presidential material. Plus, I've had all the Republicans I can stand for a LONG time.

He has great leadership skills in the best and worst of times. He accepts that the leader holds the ultimate accountability so much so that he has a sign on his desk that says 'I'm Responsible". I think he would make an excellent President. I would vote for him if I could...but I can't. (Canadian)

NO and NO !!!!!!!
Because he is racist, anti semitic, and REPUBLICAN....he couldnt get the votes from his own party so he switched over to independent party and that is how he got elected......yes crime went down with him in office but also thanks to him, the cost of living in NYC almost tripled under his reign.....he was doing LOUSY as a mayor until 9/11 and then all of a sudden he became a hero.....I agree he is a good problem solver but he is also a good trouble maker too.......I dont support his views or his approach.....but anyway, I probably shouldnt get so worked up because knowing that he has prostate cancer, he probably wont live to see the election...we already have trouble keeping Cheney out of the hospital....we dont need a president ruling the country from his hospital bed...very easy target for terrorists

NO. He was a lousy mayor up until 9/11. He'd be an even worse president.
