last year, around october or septmember, I missed my period. I didn't get one until this past march, and I thought I might have been pregnant. I took numerous tests, when my period finally arrived, I was relieved. I was too scared to go see a doctor, but I still have very late periods. it could be natural, but for your health, you should probably get it checked out. you could have an ovarian cyst or possibly cervical cancer. maybe your body just isn't getting enough nutrition or you have been over stressed. either way, don't be a scaredy cat like me, make sure you are ok!!

There are many reasons that you can go for a while without periods.

The simplest explanation is that you just have irregular periods.

Another reason is that it's hormone related - this can be the menopause kicking in (can happen early in some people if you not of the usual age yet), it could be use of the Pill that causes your periods to sometimes not occur, it could be stress as stress hormones can often stop your period happening.

It's possible that you could be pregnant. Even if you end up having a miscarriage (though you might not recognise it as such) very early on in the pregnancy - you may just think that it's a delayed period.

The best thing to set your mind at rest would be to get it checked out by your doctor. It may just be "normal" for you, or there may be some underlying reason for it - the only way you'll find out is to get it checked out.

Probably no harm getting it checked out just to set your mind at ease. Mine are sometimes all over the place. During this year I missed about 3 months but the last 6 months or so they have been regular again. Sometimes its down to stress. Can't explain mine but I feel fine and they are on track again.

If you're a teen its quite normal for your period to be extremely irregular. However, you should get it checked out, just in case.

See your gynocologist. Sometimes its from stress or not enough weight. If you've been on an extreme diet, your body knows its not healthy enough to reproduce and will stop your menses. Same with too much stress. The body cannot handle it.

Depends on your age - but I'd get it checked out anyway.
