I've received one for suggesting that someone called YOURREPORTED should be reported for answering a load of questions with 'Your reported, your question is a violation' I wouldn't have reported him at all but thought this question was one in jest that would get some quickwitted and intelligent answers. All I got was a load of abuse back from people apart from one who thought it was hilarious and saw what I was getting at especially as I provided a link to this person's answers. My question was taken off and I got a lovely e-mail from Yahoo!
But it seems it is alright for questions containing death threats to you still to be allowed and not taken off!!

I think that this whole business of pushing a button is greatly abused by people who are incapable of appreciating that other people might be entitled to defend their own point of view. Moreover, I can't work out how some of these abuse notices are sent out in the first place. I answered a question from someone which required me to translate a few sentences from English into another language. I received an abuse notice because the sentences weren't in the correct language for the site! I went back to look and there were other answers set out in the offending language. Nobody had complained about them! That made me wonder: in a case like that, where answers are not subjective or speculative, but correct or incorrect, can a rival push a button and complain about your contribution? Just a thought!

Yes, the abuse system is abused itself. And Yahoo utilizes it in an abusive way. Plenty of people report questions and answers that are not in any way a violation of the community guidelines and as a consequence, Yahoo automatically eliminates those questions and answers. I do not believe that Yahoo has someone review all the reported postings. That is obviously a blatant lie that they ought to admit and apologize for having made.

I have also had a violation message and a response cancelled, akthough what I said, also, was not in the least abusive. Further, although i appealed the abuse notice, I heard nothing further- which is, in itelf, very rude!
Yahoo need to sort this out!

My first violation notice was when I submitted an answer to Denise Robertson's question "what, if anything do woman do better than men".
as I had worked in an office with other 60 woman in it, I answered truthfully that woman can talk crap and play with religious icons constantly - I received a violation notice within minutes of posting it - it must have caused offence to Judy Finnegan, or someone like her...

yes i had one yesterday, just because someone didnt like my answer, it shouldnt be allowed and if they dont like some of the answers, why are they using this , they should look it up themselves if thats what they are going to do! i thought that part of the reason of answers is because everyone has a different opinion!
