How do I get into film production?

Question

I'm looking to get into the film indusrty working as a producer, does anyone know any good media agency's or how to break into the indusrty?

I've just finished a degree in film studies but need to get experience to expand my skills, so working for a good company would be a good start.

I would suggest looking at colleges that have a good film program! The only person that I know of that broke into the film industry from nothing beforehand, is Quentin Tarantino. He was a video store clerk before Reservoir Dogs put him on the map! Its best to go to school and learn what you need to learn, and then work your way up the ladder! For the mostpart, producers typically are the people that finance the film, so unless you are mega rich, thats not something that you are going to be able to just jump in and do. Best of luck, if you make it big, cast me in one of your movies. :)

1) You may contact really big and famous companies as Miramax or Universal, 20th C Fox. Well, just see their web sites and start contacting managers of that companies.
3) You may buy shares in Movie companies.
4) I guess it is easier to finance singer, advertise, one album, millions of fans and concerts. Then, the same singer goes into movie industry ( as all the stars do) and you produce it with the famous director. That's all you need. Not few, I'd say.
5) Or you may give up, as me, and try to forget about all the Vanity Fair called HW.

First of all its not easy to be a film producer.

I suggest you go to film school first and learn the ropes before anything else.

They will teach you all the basic stuff.

If you want to make films then take the universal studios campus. You ca nactually shoot with in the Universal Studios Set. Selected sets though. but its still Universal.

in my view, i could choose for the degree in English. The technicalities of action picture production could properly be picked up with adventure and could replace over the years. Technical issues you learn as we talk may be out of date in 5-10 years. yet writing properly and having an information of literature speaks greater to the basics of advantageous tale telling and is the inspiration for each thing else.

make small movies on your cam, keep it simple good topics and interest be adventurous and experiment, all of the big names in films started that way send your best to film studios. keep sending don't ever give up.
