MiMi Dear: I'm from Las vegas, they have the biggest roaches there you'd ever seen although I've heard Texas has them beat with roaches four inches long. But, all this withstanding.

Call an exterminator or get yourself at least three bombs. One for each room and follow the directions. You'll have to empty all your kitchen cabinets out, pile everything on the table or a space on the floor and cover this all up with plastic. the exterminate will have you do this also. All closets, empty on the bed and do the same. Bath closets, etc. Do you get the idea?

Plan a day out. Then you set off the bombs, They usually work for about six hours, plan for it.
When you come home, wash all your bedding over, all clothes if necessary. All bedding must be washed. All dishes, everything must be washed. I washed the floors everything.

The second part of the treatment when he comes or you, spray around the entire unit or around every room. Under the cabinets, etc. All over everyhting.
Don't forget under the mattresses, the couches, the chairs, etc. You mustn't forget anything.

After you all done, a fourteen hour day and your wondering if you forgot anything, you'll wish you had called someone like an exterminator. I did after all this just once. They can give you a grantee ans they have a program, it's not that expensive.

The best way to get rid of roaches is to first figure out what type they are. Small roaches (German roaches) are a big problem and best to get a professional if you can not clean them out. I would start by making sure that you clean the area well then apply a suspended considerate pesticide of some type around the edge of the floor. Next take boric acid and place the dust under stove, dishwasher, ect and where pipes enter the home. Good luck

I used to own a few apartment buildings and roaches would be a problem from time to time. The cheapest way to get rid of them is roach bombs you get at a home improvement store like Lowes. I'd put one in every room of your house including the attic and crawl space if you have one, otherwise you're just going to be running them out of one room and into another. If that doesn't work I would call an exterminator. Make sure you get an exterminator with a guarantee. You should be able to find one for at least 3 months. That way if you see another roach (or if you just want to make sure there aren't any hiding anywhere) in a month or so you can call them to come back out for free. Good luck!

If you have a very tight house, I have found a relatively inexpensive method. Have a local air gas supply house deliver several bottles of either nitrogen, or C02. C02 is less expensive, and is heavier than the rest of the air in the house. Seal up the windows with inexpensive weather sealing tape, and do the same with all the door cracks. Run the c02 into the house from the top floor. You can either pipe it in to the upstairs, or lug the air tanks to the upper floor, if you have one. The c02 will displace ALL THE AIR in the house, so leave, and seal the door you go out of.
This will create an essentially airless environment in the house, killing all the roaches, and 99% of the eggs. Leave the house for a day, and have fans ready to exchange the air when you come back. Do not go in the bsmt until you exchange the air.

This method has the advantage of getting everywhere in your house, houseplants actually love it, and you do not have to cover any food stuffs. Just MAKE SURE TO VENTILATE WELL BEFORE GOING INTO THE LOWER FLOORS, OR BSMT!!!

This method leaves no odors, or toxic residues, but you do have to remove pets, and fish. Good luck. It works.

I use an exterminator, the price depends on the square feet you have....mine is $33 a month and well worth it....if you don't want to do that clean clean clean and put down those bait boxes for big roaches where they eat the bait then crawl away to die. If I see a stray roach I spray it with maximum strength aerosol(not pump)hairspray, it works better than the roach sprays!! and smells better. Kinda scary what we put in our hair...

You've only got one choice.
Burning down the house! Just kidding. You can pay an exterminator. Which can take anywhere from a couple months to a year to get rid of them; depending how bad you have them. Or you can buy a gallon of spray, some bug bombs, and some brown stuff that comes in a big syringe that you inject behind and under cracks, base boards and trim boards. It is important to not leave food laying around or dirty dishes.

Go to wal-mart & get a box of combat plus (it is in a gold box~ on the same isle the laundry soap is on) it has the little syringe with a roach killing jell in it & it also has the little bait boxes you put around the house & it will cost about 10.00 but well worth it. I had them & I got this stuff & have not seen none in over 3 years. I live in Texas in the country so they were pretty bad.

Boric Acid but don't forget to blow some under your house and do outside too. Roaches come in from the outside. so many people take care of the inside only and end up doing it all over again.

You can't. you can only control the problem, with a good roach killer, and by not leaving food laying around for them to eat.
