Is there anything that really strikes fear into your heart, makes your hair stand on end, or just makes you want to cry? Not like falling to your death, but an actual thing like a balloon, spider, etc.
I didn't think that there was anything that freaked me out...until my friend had a fancy dress party. My friend went as action man complete with full combat gear, guns and ...GAS MASK!!!! I answered the door and he had his hood up and his gas mask on. I was terrified and I felt sick. I am not sure what it is exactly about them, but they really panic me. I even tried to put it on to see if that would help me overcome my fear, but I couldn't put it right up to my face....Strange huh?!
So now you have read my story, tell me about you!

i have a fear of buttons in a tin, when i was a kid my mum had a big tin of buttons and as a youngster i dropped the tin and the buttons went down my top and everywhere else, it really freaked me out and now if i see a top with big buttons all or lots of little buttons i feel really sick.
i also have a fear of men wearing brown shoes, i hate them and they have become really popular at the mo, not sure why i don't like them but they make my skin crawl.

It doesn't exactly scare me as such but presses buttons that turn me into a quivering idiot...
When I was a kid my Mum had a relationship with a man who used to get drunk and beat her up, once in a while he would set upon me and my brother as well.
Since then I've had a couple of female friends who have been in abusive relationships. Confrontation and drunken violent behaviour doesn't really get me but when I've been present when my friends partners started to go off on one it would really trip me up and send me back into a scary place in my head. Things is as well, these were not men who I would have had any problem giving them a fat lip in any other circumstances, but in those moments, behind closed doors and a drunken idiot starting on a woman, would turn me inside out.
Made me feel like a complete fraud as I hate that sort of thing and would be the first to say it's bang out of order. But I just can't help myself from crumbling if I'm there when it happens, is like I am a scared kid all over again, feeling powerless to prevent some big drunken monster from laying into my mum.

Wow! You really have a funny phobia there!
I'm afraid that mine is fairly standard in comparison. I'm utterly terrified of hypodermic needles, to the point where I have passed out whilst having a conversation about jabs to go travelling. I have also fainted watching a friend have a blood test done. I went in to offer her some support, and I was the one that ended up on the ground after watching the blood test!
Having said that, I do have a tattoo...... God knows how I managed to sit through it all!

i have a great fear of heights, i often dream about standing at a great height and then falling. And spiders, even the tiniest ones freak me out!! they really do scare me, if i see one on the wall i freeze and get someone to catch it right then and there and throw it outside, it's funny, i hate them, yet i don't like killing them. And also spirits, i sometimes ponder too much on the thought that there are dead people all around me wherever i go, watching me ( i think i just watch too much tv lol.)

The film Poltergeist really craps me up. Strangely I have the opposite of vertigo. I can stand at the top of something and look down and im fine. Heights dont bother me. But if i stand at the bottom and look up at something tall I feel giddy! This happens when climbing a steep incline, lets say a hill, thats very very steep. I could run down no probs but climbing up im clinging the grass or whatever looking up!

A psycho with a knife in person. Spiders give me creeps but i am not outright horrified of them even though i would rather hold a snake than a spider. The real big fear would be Hell. That one is the granddaddy of them all.

There's only one thing that strikes that much fear in my heart, chameleons. THe little green lizards that are so prevelant in south Louisiana. Not lizards in Texas, not the ones in New Mexico or Arizona. I don't know why, I know it's silly (I'm 51). Snakes, spiders, roaches, no problem. But those little green lizards make me feel just as you described.

Liggy - many may find this funny - but the sight of Hillery Clintoon terrifies me beyond reason. To think that anyone admires this demon is just awful. She is the second coming of the devils from below. Sorry, but my fear really is that she is out there somewhere.

The sheer power these terrorists have over us! It's so frightening that anything could happen at any time (as we've already seen!). Also , nuclear weopons- how we could all be wiped out at the drop of a hat. And bringing children up in this kind of world.
