Please try to find an expert on allergies. I am seeing more and more children with similar symptoms. Allergies can be highly specific and extremely discouraging for anyone - including children. Some chemical allergies affect everything from appetite to energy levels to immunity, to the efficacy of the entire respiration cycle. The respiration cycle offers critical energy for the production of ATP needed for all muscle activity as well as all forms of thinking and communication.
I think we are not taking allergic responses to chemicals seriously enough. A good example is the chemical composition of 'normal' laundry products. These chemicals stick to the body, the hair and everything they contact. Some of these chemicals are estrogen receptors and can certainly affect hormones related to growth, emotions, appetite, etc.
You need to research a truly impartial group who will identify such allergies and sensitivities honestly. It is important to do this now while she is still young.
Make a list of all possible sources of irritants in her regular environment.
My wife and I just got back from a road trip. We could not believe the chemicals we encountered and the symptoms they induced in BOTH of us. Thank god we could compare notes. We have even had trouble washing certain chemicals out of our clothes and hair! And do not be fooled by something that says "Unscented". Many products use chemicals to block scented components and you can develop a sensitivity to those chemicals!
I really do think you should check out your child's sensitivities and allergies before deciding that her problem is psychological. It can develop into a psychological problem due to weariness and discouragement. I suspect she is reacting to more than one type of chemical.
I really hope you can make some progress with this problem. She is so young and needs care and protection. The very best to both of you.

I think with all the sickness, she probably can't talk [sore throat?], and is unhappy. Perhaps if you are afraid of a mental illness, then a visit to a counsellor is in order. But, also, your concerns for her may be affecting her happiness as well. Children can detect these feelings, and you being her parent, she will feel strongly. Also, visits to so many people [doctors and such] may make her feel worse. When i had glandular fever, i found the visits to the doctors more upsetting than the sickness itself. Does she have throat problems? How about a nose/throat/ear specialist?

Has she always been like this, I mean what was she like as a baby? Could there be any reason for cause to have a psychological problem? Has she been seen by a Dr. when she had/has tonsilitus? These are all things to look into if they haven't already...trauma, long term sickness, or meds could cause this this isn't normal behavior or if it is some kind of mental health issue there are tests tht can be done some as simple as her development skills. Take her to the DR.'s. PLEASE!!!....My thoughts are w/ you

Take her to the Children's Hospital. Shriners or something. Something is very wrong. Is it possible she has Down Syndrome? Often children with that have chronic bronchitis etc.
Keep trying new doctors until you find one that knows what he is doing. Make sure you keep proof of doctor visits as well because if your child is underweight or gets that way , they could do a lot of junk trying to say you are starving your child etc.
Find a pediatrician or something. Get in the phone book and work your way down the list.

I would rule out a physical problem first by seeing a good pediatritian. After that, perhaps a neurologist, then a psychiatrist.
Advocate for that little girl, be the parent and INSIST on an answer that seems appropriate to YOU. At age 3, she's got a lot of living to do - it's your job to make it count.
