Both i and my 6 year old daughter are huge Harry Potter fans.I started reading the books before the movies were made, and when Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone was released I went to see it at the cinema. I was SO disappointed, and couldn't understand how anyone who hadn't read the books would be able to follow the story properly. There was so much left out.My daughter watched the films first and then i told her to read the books and she agrees with me, you get so much more from the book that isn't conveyed in the films. It has been the same for all the films they have made, i understand that it is impossible to get everything from the book on to film but i am sure they could have been far more faithful to the stories than they have been.I think its such a shame that some people only know the films and have never read the books, they are missing out on so much.

The books are so much better then the movies. But the movies are still awesome. They have a little problem though. How (in the movie) are they going to explain how the Fred and George Weasley got the money to start their joke shop if Harry never gives them the money?! In the 4th book harry gives the twins the triwizard tourdament winnings but in the movie they lelf that part out. I still love the books and movies anyway.

I am a Huge fan of the books, they are great for anyone of any age. the movies, though I don't like them as much as the books, are very entertaining, sometimes its hard though to watch them after reading the books.

They're pretty imaginative and really good for kids below 8th grade. But I definitely think high school aged people and above should read better material. The movies aren't bad though, the effects are worth seeing.

I absolutely love this series, even though I am an adult. I also love the movies. I have gone to see all of them the first night they were available in my hometown.
