I have now had enough of debt collection and thinking of changing careers. I thought the only natural career progression would be credit control management. Would this be a good career move or do you think I should go for something completely different? By the way, I have studied up to 'A' levels, grades are not very good, and have an interest in working with figures and computers. I am in my mid 30s and live in England.

Thanks

Do a degree in Business or something similar, it would definately improve your career prospects and increase your earning potential.

I think credit control management would be a good lateral move, and certainly won't hurt while you try to find the perfect job. I have to imagine it is less stressful than debt management, that is for sure. I say give it a try for a year or so. You are still young and there is no reason you can't look for other opportunities, perhaps go back to school.

Hi.

Depends on what debt collection I guess. You could move sideways into Revenues collection for Council Tax, Business Rates or Housing Revenues.

If you move into Housing then you can look for other roles like tenancy officer, development officer etc.
