The Rescue?

I saw the rescue in the theatres recently, and I don't really understand the ending. Please help?

Are you talking about the 1980s movie about the kids who go save their dads from a North Korean military jail?
If so, they get their fathers out, and escape to an old plane. They start to fly the plane to South Korea and are shot by the North Koreans, injuring the pilot.
Once they are in South Korea air space they are being persued by the American military (the plane has a North Korea insignia on it). The younger brother of one of the main kids is wearing a Born In The USA T shirt and goes to the topside of the plane. He opens he jacket he is wearing to show the Navy pilots that are chasing them. Because of this they are allowed to land safely on the military base. They emerge from the plane to awaiting family and friends
