Yes they are different if you are travelling solo. For one thing YOU ARE ALONE. singing the song will either make you happy, sad, irritated etc depending on the mood. When you are with someone, you get to tell them why you like that particular road trip song and then you can hear and sing theurs. See what I mean?

i will dare by the replacements works in the movie feeling minnesota...
...though i think i might be the only person who has seen that movie--or at least admits it.
cameron crowe has a great list of songs that works both solo and with company in the movie elizabethtown

while traveling alone i like to listen to old time rock -n-roll.... Lynyrd Skynyrd,,, ZZ Top... Led Zeppelin...it takes me back to the good old days when life was much more simple..
