Skype name was derived from the word 'Type'. Before voice chat technology, we used to chat with someone, by typing the texts, in any Messengers (like Yahoo or MSN). From that concept, they named it SKYPE, which means, similar to TYPE, but, it's like a voice type, which flies in the sky and the recipient gets the messages!

MSN means Microsoft Network. and MSN Meseenger is the Instant Messenger software from Microsoft.

If some forms will ask you to fill-up Skype or MSN, it means, they want you to fill your own user ID, of Skype and/or MSN Messenger. Both of the software provides you with your personal ID, when you will register with them. These forms ask about those IDs.

I hope, this answer helps you to know, what is what.

:-)

That is hysterical. I think my mom may have gotten that in a chain letter when I was a teen and joked about all my boyfriends having to fill it out. Thanks for the laugh
