Yes I've see it. The aliens take over the Faculty and Casey character (Elijah Wood) is one of the 6 students who uncover it and resist (although turns out one is infected by the parasitic life form and the other is the 'mother' life form which creates the parasites.)

The aliens who take over the school by injecting a parasitic organism into the ear, which takes over the brain and creates what appears to be a different version of the person, one that desires to spread the parasite as much as it can.
The faculty sends the entire student body to the nurse for ear inspections, where they are taken over by the parasite.
The mother alien gets crushed at the end of the film by Casey by the bleachers in the school gym and by injecting the drug they used against them, in her eye.

With the success of "Scream" and "I Know What You Did Last Summer" it's become common to see teen horror films. Mix that in with a Kevin Williamson script, and you have a film aimed at the teen market, but the first thing to come to mind, is that the whole teen horror market has become watered down. I decided to give "The Faculty" a chance, but I did not expect much.

"The Faculty" may remind many of "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" (A similarity acted on by some of the movies young heroes), in that the aliens use human bodies as a host. After the teachers become infested by the creatures, the faculty tries to take over the student population. A few students get away, and begin to try to figure out what's going on. Using the "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" plot, they determine that there is probably one leader alien, and if that one is killed the human hosts will return to normal. That's what they hope will happen. They develop a type of weapon that they believe will battle each alien, but throughout the film they find it harder and harder to trust each other, unsure of who really isn't possessed by the small worm like aliens.

This story doesn't sound too effective, and at the beginning I wasn't too impressed especially since I found the school environment to be one of the most fake I've ever seen. Still, maybe not expecting much was the best attitude I could have gone in with, for I was pleasantly surprised. The movie became very exciting, and with some 90's campy special effects, the movie almost become and ode to 50's and 60's horror flicks.

Kevin Williamson will never win an Oscar with scripts like these, but his scripts are developed enough for me to continuously get interested in. I came to like the characters he had, and it was nice to see a couple of teen characters actually being played by teens. Still, when I see the name Kevin Williamson, I expect slashing, this movie really didn't have that much gore in it. That was refreshing with the monsters actually trying to scare people instead of simply gross them out.

"The Faculty" was a lot better than I expected. I give it seven stars out of ten.

I've seen it - accidentally! My mate and I went to the Cinema to see something else but we were too late so we decided to watch the Faculty instead even though we hadn't a clue what it was about. I liked it a lot -but that might have been because I had absolutely no expectations about it...

Yeah, not a bad film. Its never gonna win an Oscar or anything but silly, easy to follow fun for a Sunday evening in from the cold. With sweets, and crisps and dips. Yum!
It also has lots of sexy characters in so whatever you're into there's someone to perve at!
