I know this is going to sound really dramatic and stupid but does anyone else feel like they are searching for something? I feel like Neo out of the Matrix when he is asleep on his keyboard at the beginning in his cramped apartment. Is it just me or at 24 years old life seems pretty empty and doesn't have much meaning?

It is a good feeling. It shows a void that needs to be filled. A destiny that needs to be fulfilled. A task to be done. Like Neo maybe you are 'the one' with some special innate talent that lies dormant.

I think the search is life. If you ever get to a point where you are not searching and wondering and restless (to some degree) then that probably means you are ready for your wooden overcoat!
But, as far as the emptiness and meaninglessness goes, that could be one of two things. It is either a transitional stage as you work your way from one life pattern to another- such changes are really hard to manage and mood swings are common- or else it is a degree of depression. If the latter, only you know how deep a degree it is, and whether you need some chemical and/or medical help with that.
At your age I'd be inclined to suppose a change of life-style is called for. See one element in your life with which you are really dissatisfied or bored, and start right now to do something about changing it!

I am in my forties and still feel like i am searching for something.I think this is a common feeling and quite normal.I often feel like my life has not begun yet despite having lived a full life so far.I believe the feeling is in anticipation of not knowing whats around the corner and can feelquite anti climatic at times.This feeling may well stay with you for many years but is completely harmless.

Searching is part of life it sets goals to aim for without these goals and aims you might as well be dead? And lets face it you are a long time dead.

The meaning of life is 42..... or it could be a cloud... a bowl of icecream....a dog called Rover...God...Love...basically whatever you want it to be. The difficult bit is knowing what it is that will make life meaningfull for you.
