what kind of market structure does the British grocery market have

Tesco not only do groceries but credit cards, insurance, mobile phones etc. and are very powerful with fingers in many pies (including their own label ones). I think it is run by some guy in a volcano stroking a white cat.

They're taking over! They sell EVERYTHING so it means they get more trade and take it away from local shops, high streets, markets etc...

they are monopolising more and more nowadays by selling more and more products .ie,credit cards ,banking,insurance ect.they are also buying up small garages and retail outlets which is very worrying for the sole trader
