80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.

I've come to two conclusions recently:

1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.

First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.

Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.

For such a short question the answer seems to be enormous. It seems that many people have contemplated this question, from Socrates to Homer Simpson. It has been approached from many different viewpoint, spiritualistic to scientific. You can get a better idea by reading the web page I have listed as my source. The meaning of life is different for everyone. It varies from "42" (Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy) to "to find a place to put all your stuff" (George Carlin). The question seems like a quest. People searching far and wide for the answer. So maybe the meaning of life is what we do with it, how we pass the time between birth and death. I hope this helps.

We live so that we may return to God as a spiritual being that is a wiser, kinder, more loving and in all other ways a closer representation of God who made us in his/her image. The meaning of life is to experience days that are filled with love, joy, peace, kindness, creative inspiration, healing and mercy. These are the gifts of the Holy Spirit. It is also our true nature. It is the creative vibration that creates the energy for all life. It is the force that vibrates the "string" in string theory. Each of us should progress each day on the path that has been illuminated for us by the Holy Spirit. We should stay in harmony with this creative vibration. If this is accomplished when you come to the end of this path you will welcomed home by the Holy Mother who will share with you eternal love, peace and kindness.”

The meaning of life is the condition that distinguishes organisms from inorganic objects and dead organisms, being manifested by growth through metabolism, reproduction, and the power of adaptation to environment through changes originating internally.

life has both beginning and end.
There is an argument about the beginning of life, but lets not get into that.
Life ends at death.
The meaning of life is what lies in between.
Nothing more Nothing less
