thats your hard drive where movies are stored you've given us the speeds of your cpu and the amount of ram you have. to get hard disc space go to my computer and hover your mouse over c: to see how big it is and how much space is remaining.
a full length film is usually about 700mb when downloading from internet

Many confusing answers here so far....
Right, you have a processor which runs at 2.66GHz - That is speed.
You have 1GB of Memory - Ram - This is NOT your hard drive space which is completely different.
1GB of ram is 1024 MegaBytes. Not 1000 - as someone stated above. This is because binary is base 2 which is basically 0 and 1. Anything multipled by 1000 in computer terms is 2^10 which means that it is actually 1024 - NOT 1000 as someone else has suggested.
To demonstrate, 1KiloByte is 1024 Bytes.
1MegaByte is 1024 KiloBytes.
1GigaByte is 1024 MegaBytes and so forth
Most DVD size movies are 4.5 GB (4.5 X 1024 MB). Your ram is not affected by this because the file is written to your hard drive for permanent storage. RAM (Your 1GB number) is only temporary - IE when you shut down your computer it all gets written to the hard disk and then wiped from the ram/forgotten.
Basically your Memory is NOT important for downloading movies. Your HARD DRIVE is the most important thing because you need large storage capacity to store them.
Memory (Ram): Short term, forgotten when power off.
Storage (Hard Disk): Long term, permanently remembered.

Okay.....the stats that you have given are not the ones that are important.....depending on the type of movie that you download (avi format or DvD format) each movie can take up anywhere between 700meg to 4 gig (or 4000 meg). Movies that you download are usually stored on the Hard Drive. So the space that you have on the Hard Drive will determine how many movies you can download. There is one thing that I would like to mention however, if you are going to be doing this, make sure you have updated virus and mal-ware scanners. The two that I use are Norton Anti-virus and A squared. I would recommend these for you as they both have trail dates on them and you can purchase them later if you want.
Have fun

Your question is about your hard disk and not the memory (also called RAM).
Depending on the operating system you have, you can indeed determine how many partitions your disk contains and their sizes.
Right click My computer. Left click > Properties > Hardware > Device manager > Disk drives
Then left click the name of your drive.
The click Volumes > Populate. Down below you will see the names of your "logical drives." If there is only C:, then you have only one logical drive. If you also see there D:, E:, etc., then you have other logical disks, and their space will be in addition to that of C:. Under Volume you will see the disk names, and under Capacity you will see their sizes.
All this has nothing to do with the RAM. You have 1 GB of RAM.

You have 1 Gig of RAM/memory.. same as 1000MB.
Downloading takes up memory in accordance with the program you use... the space a movie takes up is really on your hard drive.. Most movies are around 700MB in Divx/Xvid codecs. The movie is downloaded and written to your hard drive as it comes in - it stays in ram a very short time.

the question you have mentioned has nothing to do with downloading of movies
download of movies depends on to network speed (Max download is around kbp)or bus speed on which you spindles are conected.(Harddisk connected to motherboard)
in lay-mans term it shall take 4GB space to download a movie of 3hrs also resolution and format in which file is save is important.

Your pc memory is fine. It seems that the speed of your computer is slower than what I expected. Try to uninstall some progams which you no longer use.
