i have lost count of the arguments between athiests and religious people...and the arguments between creationists and evolutionary people... what is the point of all of this? has anyone's opinion ever changed with all of this acrimonious banter?

I would guess that it has polarized views even farther. Maybe we Americans just don't know how to play nice. My hardly contained contempt aside, our religious and spiritual beliefs, our values seem to be our identity, our purpose. What else is more important to argue about? I think we are all eager to communicate, but we just don't do it well. While the internet provides an easy and comfortable place to be expressive, we tend to let our ultimate desire for harmonious relationships and appropriate discussion go somehow...I guess collectively we are just figuring out how to speak and listen.

Man always needs to know the origin and the purpose of his life in order to live happily and decently.
If he learns from the religions brought by Messengers of the One True God, he realizes that he bears all the seeds of God's attributes, he lives the life as taught in Their divine teachings and enjoys all the good things that God bestows in the development of those attributes.
He who refuses to learn from religions, harvests various fruit promised by man as we see here and there now.
Arguments are not convincing, but in our ignorance we keep on argueing like little kids or more like the blind hermits argue about the body of an elephant.
Humble men keep on learning and they may catch the light in the knowledge of God.

because they can't asked their pastors, priests, imams, ministers, etc. on point blank!!!! so they ask alot of questions here because this is an anonymour place where they can express tehmselves anytime...... also most of the questions are anti-religion and stuff like that.... look!!! they cant do that in the real world or else they will "go to hell" because of unbelief.... because their pastor say so!!!!
