The rule of thumb for job interviews is to dress for one position higher than what you're interviewing for. Dress as you'd expect your prospective boss to dress.
You can't go wrong by going conservative, though you have to balance conservative with frumpy.
Depending on your outfit, black closed toe mid-heel shoes are a winner for women. For men, a black leather oxford goes with everything.
Make sure they're not scuffed and that they're polished, but patent leather is a bit over the top.

Dark colored suit. Simple hair. No big jewellry, loopy earrings, jangly noisy bracelets, etc. No stinky perfume. Clear nailpolish, or none. Stockings, if you are showing your legs. Skirt length at or slightly above the knee. Just don't wear a mini-skirt. Closed-toe shoes.
Basically, you should look serious and professional. Even if the job itself does not require you to dress up, you should dress well for the interview. It shows respect for your employer, and shows that are taking the interview seriously. You want them to focus on you, not your clothing. Be enthusiastic about the job and interested in the company. Be relaxed and prepared, arrive on time. Don't gab on and on about how great you are. Just answer their questions w specific information and wait calmly for the next question. Do not say ANYTHING negative. Ideally they are trying to create a sort of conversation with you that flows naturally from one question to the next. It's not an inquisition; they're not trying to ask trick questions, etc. Just smile and be yourself!

formal shoes, MAN: black wing tips, LADY: pretty much depends on the attire, if its a pant suit then closed shoes ankle high at least if its a skirt suit then low cut shoes would also do as long as they are not lace ups, but pretty much depends on what job as well, if you were to come to me would suggest something totally opposite maybe.anyways.. all the best

Depends on the job. I wouldn't take a leather whip and matching chaps if you're a school teacher. Medical assistant; Velcro-rip-away panties is a no-no. Mortician; clown outfit not a good idea. Church secretary; hot pink go-go boots a crotchless underwear will guarantee that you remain unemployed.
