I'm South-East Asian and I want to date this Caucasian. Dang, I don't even know why Race should be coming in to this. I really like her personality and she likes me and all. But my dad doesn't support it at all. He says I should keep to my own kind. I'm color blind though and yeah...

If you just wanna date her, it shouldn't matter. If you wanna marry just see if you will be ok with the culture differences .Coz from the outside it doesn't seem to matter, but when you get down to living with a person day in and day out then the differences start creeping in. Gotta be careful abt that, right from food to beliefs tp value systems . So in someways there is some wisdom in what the older generation says in sticking to your kind. Anyways its a free world I am sure your dad cant to much if you have made up your mind to be with her.

I am caucasian and my wife is black.
My parents told me the same thing, but I didn't listen to them.
We3've been married for 20 years now, and my parents changed their way of thinking. They had no choice.
Stay strong and still talk to them with respect.

Don't tell your Dad that he is wrong and don't call him names, like racist. Continue to let him know how you feel and assert that you will make your own decision.
Don't argue withim about it and don't try to change him. Also insist that he treat your friends with respect. And, thank him for that.

you know what i have that same problem with my in laws because my mother in laws dad does not like white people and i have to hide the fact that i am married to my husband and it bothers me but i learned to deal with it the best way that i know how and that is to give it to the lord because only he can change things so just keep your head up and pray because in the end he will be the one missing out :-) GOD BLESS

Do what you want, man. The most important thing is that you're happy. Either your dad will come round and realise that or he's too bigoted to worry about in the first place.

You're dad needs some kind of reverse-psycology

He needs someone to descriminate against him, then he'll know how people feel when he's being all racist and all

Do what you want to do. Follow YOUR heart. If you like her and she likes you, then go for it.

Let your dad know that you're not like him and that times have changed.
