at the Vanguard of battle, let them feel what it is to lose their love ones, they are quick enoung to send ours, to their deaths. I lost two family member in the second world war, a further 15 friends in a doddlebug raid in Winchmore Hill North London, and a childhood friend (Iris Chamberlin) that lost both her legs, in that same raid.
Can anyone tell me how we have moved on since then.

It would be a great idea but it will never happen! The same as the rest of us being given the nuclear shelters the government have to save them in time of a nuclear attack!! It's as though they think themselves a superior race.... Apparantly it's 'because we need leaders in the event of a nuclear war' (So nothing to do with them being 'chicken sh*ts who'll run for cover at the first sign of attack then)!!
Can you imagine the aftermath of such an attack......you survive and you along with a few other people and have to procreate to save mankind, but the only women available are, Cherie Blair, Margaret Beckett and Camilla? Gross!....I think I'd have to shoot myself!! Sorry mankind....there is such a thing as asking too much of someone!!

Why drag the Royals into it they hav`nt caused this .Prince Andrew was in the Falklands war But as far as Politicians are concerned ,when Royalty used to start wars they were there on a horse leading their troops into battle ,not like the snivelling cowardly politicians who don`t care who is suffering and dieing for what they cause . while they stay a thousand miles away from any danger .if it was their life on the line there would be no wars.

Yes i believe that they should i think that it should be legally required for them to do so. becuase maybe then they would take human life into cosideration when making these decisions instead of seeing people as expendable and putting the needs of big business and oil companies first. What i find most upsetting is that the media is used to brainwash young people into believing that they are fighting for what is 'right' and defending there country but the reality is they they are pawns in a big game of chess that is being driven by the need for a relatively small amount of the worlds population to hold onto a large amount of its wealth and power. Young people are shamlessly brainwashed into joining the armed forces and used and it is discgusting and i think if the powers that be had to risk the lives of there children then they would think twice before going to war .

or even themselves?
Politicians in the main are the "do as I say not as I do" brigade aren't they?
Certainly they cannot be trusted. Look at these people & ask yourself would you really rely on them? For anything?
Sadly it is often the corrupt, greedy, selfish & power hungry who become leaders & they are predominantly concerned with their own interests rather than that of the people.
The war in Iraq is the perfect example of this. The control of oil & wealth was important whilst the lives of thousands were deemed almost irrelevant. They told lies in order to get what they wanted.
Sure they make the right noises & pretend they care but for whom do they care?
Now in the UK there is terror within ; I too sometimes wonder what the brave people of previous generations actually fought for.

It is the "privilege" of the masses to die for their country.
One has to be honest and say that things have moved on in the sense that the army is now a career entered into voluntarily, and one is not compulsorily drafted as used to be the case. Also many families in the classes you quote lost sons and daughters serving in the forces in the two world wars.
The difference is that now our lads are not defending their country, they are sent out to fight other people wars.

Yes these people are parasites, do wer r eally need Royals and overpaid politicians in this 21st century, my father died in 1949 as a result of the second world war, and we are still wasting money on wars instead of improving peoples lives so no we have not moved on. The politicians & cabinet ministers are the ones who decide on wars, they are too sefish & greedy to encourage their offsprings to go to war.
