Frater = brother.
Soror = sister.
Men have fraternities
Women have sororities
Masonry is a fraternity.
You would not ask why a woman cant belong to a college fraternity, so why would you ask why a woman cant belong to an independent fraternity?
Honestly, I dont understand why this question keeps coming up.

Women can be Freemasons. It is called Co-Masonry. It has been around since the 1800s. Infact, Co-Masonry seems to be growing quite abit and doing quite well.

I am a member of American Co-Masonry. We admit women and men, 21 years old and older, of all races, who believe in a Supreme Being, who are tolerant of other religions and races, who wish to improve the world by improving themselves.

While we do not hold charter from United Grand Lodge of England, our Order holds continuous charter from France. We work degrees in a very strict progression and advance by study and work. Our Lodges in American Co-M are in NY, Washington, Georgia, FLA, TX, UT, CA, CO, Brazil, Chile, OK, MN, etc. There are other Co-M Orders in other countries, as well.

If I can be of help, feel free to write me or click on the link below.

I have a feeling this will change. Once one grand lodge takes suit, the rest shall follow. At least that's the hope.
