People keep saying that Jay-z or P Diddy are the richest but if you think of the pioneers of rap that are still going.
Ice-T is one, Russell Simmons who was with Run DMC and has more than 1 record company and his own clothing label. He has been going since the early 80's.
Even the The Neptune's have 3 record labels, clothing company. and the most produced tracks out with different artists ever.
They have only been going since the mid 90's.
It is mainly the people that arn't as in the limelight that are the richest.
The list goes on.

Male : Sir Paul McCartney with 700million fortune(according to forbes). McCartney reportedly demands at least £1m for a two-hour performance (some clain David Bowie is the richest)
Female : Madonna is the richest female pop star with around the same fortune (700 Million)

Richest? id say Male being Tupac.. He's released numerous albums and has gotten alot of money from that which is then handled by his mom and given to some charities etc..
Woman being Missy Elliot.. Shes released many albums and even had her own tv show so guessing she must be loaded!

i would say dr dre, just look how many peoples vidoes hes in for instance! he seems to be in lots and i dont justmean the eminem ones. he launched the careers of snoop dog, eminem and the game, and also busta rhymes, eve and bishop lamont, he also the producer of over 50 music videos, and that isnt just for rap music.

I think you mean richest yeah i think it was B.I.G. And 2Pac but since they are oth dead i have to say probably most likley ummm... Eminem, P diddy, Pussycat dolls, Usher Raymond and Dr. Dre i love em all oh and missy elliot i also love her.
