The ocean waves lap my toes
As I stand on the beach.
As I smell the food stands.

It means that if you don't at least try to help yourself, you have no right to ask others for help. Many people on this website would benefit from contemplating this: both the people who ask for help on things they could solve themselves and the people who help them anyway.
