I am chivalrous. I hold the door open for everyone, men or women. I say sir and ma'am to people I am not really close to. I look people in the eyes when I talk to them. I respect everyone, even people I don't know. I do not judge people by first appearances or by what I hear, only by what I know, and even then I don't condemn them. I take responsibility for all my actions no matter what the consequences. I do not care what other people think of me, the people who know me know to believe about me. I do not spread rumors. I ignore the rumors about myself. I let older people ahead of me when waiting in line. I stop for everyone in the crosswalk. I try to help everyone in any way possible, and always turn down any reward offered. My real friends can talk to me with confidence, as can anyone else. The people I work with appreciate me, as I will do whatever I can to make their lives easier. Without trying to, or profiting from it, my employers love me. Am I old fashioned?

You sound very polite - however, I find it an insult to modern society to label that behaviour as being 'old-fashioned'. If we consistently refer to polite beahaviour as a thing of the past, we unwittingly deny it a place in our current era. And that is unfair to our children and their children.

The only other point I would like to say is that being polite is good and important, but not to your harm. You can balance it out at times by allowing someone else to hold a door for you and enjoy being on the receiving end of other people's polite respects. I'm sure you do - but thought I would mention it anyway.

You cannot always be the 'good-guy' while everyone takes advantage of your thoughtfulness. Just don't be taken advantage of ok? The key is 'balance'.

All the best!

No ur not old fashioned u just live a way of life that is going the way of the dinosaure, ok bad analogy, but really not many people have common curtesy these days. Some people may do it in certian areas ie, doors for ladies, saying bless u when some one sneezes, ect, ect. But these days in this fast pase world its kindof a dog-eat-dog world. in which everyone looks out for themselves, and is no longer comunial but self centered. In my opinion the world could use a heavy dose of "Old Fashion", and i'm 23 saying that.

I was raised by old fashion ethics, my dad would beat me stupid if i didn't hold the door for ladies and people older than me and so on so i've seen both sides of the track, and personally the world could use a whole lot of old skool ethic.

futher more i know the spelling and english suck on this one so no bad comments plz

I don't know if I would say old fashioned. I would say that maybe someone raised you the right way and thanks to them you turned out to be a nice guy. Unlike the parents that let their kids run wild without any discipline. They probably won't grow up to be like you. Thank someone for us for putting a considerate person out into society. :)

I wish there were more people like you. It also helps to smile and talk to the people in a friendly way as you interact with your daily routines. I have a rule as to where I never try to judge people unless they are an outright ***.
