Yea.The oil is very important though not the way most people think. It is more about the direction the revenues off the oil are going to go than the oil itself.Saddam built palaces a funded suicide bombers families and who knows who else.He also had designs and desires for nuclear weapons. The interest of other countries that are berating America is the oil they are in far greater need than we are,we did not buy oil from Saddam anyway.

American went into Iraq because of weapons of mass destruction. I know they didn't find any. However the CIA was the one that say they were there. The Same CIA that had worn the Government of 9/11 before it happen. They were right about 9/11 I wouldn't want them to take the change on the weapons. Remember Saddam was a man who used genocide with his own people. Imagine what he would have done to American. If those weapons existed?

Yes, I still think they would have come to Iraq; oil or no oil. It would be like saying after the terrorists attacked, "Well, there's no oil over there so we're not doing anything." Get real!

No, it was a choice based on a number of factors including neo conservative ideology, visions of planting democracy in the middle east (for the immediate benefit of Israel, and ultimately for the benefit of all), and showing daddy Bush that sonny could conquer Iraq.

I believe Iraq only pumps 1.5 million barrels of oil a day, but has the 2nd largest reserve of oil in the world.

Oil was the only reason why the US came to Iraq and not for the weapons of mass destruction.

YES!!!! We will do whatever necessary to protect America and freedom. Saddam harbored, sponsored and trained terrorists. So did the Taliban in Afghanistan. Is there oil in Afghanistan?

I don't believe so. There were and still remain countries that pose a far greater threat to US interests which were not invaded and less than 1/7th of our current combat troops are in Afghanistan who allegedly attacked us compared to the remainder which is occupying a country who had not attacked us.

right. America has plenty of oil on it's own land but they sell it to other countries because they get more revenue for it. When Ethanol becomes a bigger profit I want to see a foreign country invade the USA because of their corn crops. FA!
