It's called the internet. Don't buy the books, they'll just take up space while you look things up online. I would recommend subscribing to Britannica online if you're worried about finding up-to-date, accurate information; I think the other major encyclopedias, like WorldBook, also have online encyclopedias, so price them too.

Why an encyclopedia when you have the Internet? That was then this is now. Standardized tomes with info is the old ways , it becomes obsolete a day after is printed. Don't waste your money.

Encyclopedia Britannica. You can now buy it on CD for something like forty pounds.
The free internet ones are not always accurate. Britannica is totally reliable and cheap at the price.

i agree with all the others jack, why buy an encyclopedia when you have the Internet at your finger tips??? bear in mind that it would be a costly purchase and will likely be outdated very quickly. whereas with an online service, you can have frequent updates and therefore more quality information
